Esther Roca Vila |

LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE welcomes Catalan artist Esther Roca Vila, for a site-specific residency from September 12 to November 6. This residency is made possible by the exchange program with the Bòlit center located in Girone in Catalonia. The opening will take on September 29, from 5 to 7 pm. Once again, the freedom that comes with a site-specific residence works its magic on the artist. Esther Roca Vila may have arrived with a set idea of the work she wanted to present, but she admits that since then, her idea broke free. From the start, she intended to work with two others, a man and a woman in her poetic video installation. She now considers embracing multiple encounters. Roca Vila starts with the idea that we all share the same words as the narrative of our respective realities. She perceives the letters from different alphabets as the molecules that make up the DNA of all humans. Her poetic approach searches for the words that are written within us, the words of our personal experiences, the events that have made us what we are. From these words she intends to construct poems that she will project on various surfaces; the skin, the walls of the gallery and of the city. Of her own admission, Esther Roca Vila is still making out the contours of the work she will present. She is thus inviting us to the gradual deployment of her reflection, a very intimate meeting with the artist throughout all of her questionings.
