RESEARCH RESIDENCY

from February 13 to April 10, 2017
Presentation on March 23, 2017 at 5pm

Éloïse Guénard |

LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is proud to welcome Éloïse Guénard for a research residency from February 13 to April 10, 2017. This residency is taking place within the framework of the exchange program with the Musée d’art contemporain du Val-de-Marne (MAC-VAL) and with the contribution of Consulate General of France in Quebec. You are invited to attend her presentation on March 23 from 5@7.

As a curator, Éloïse Guénard, reflects on the place of dance in a museum context. The stakes of a museology specific to dance are combined with those of the exhibition of contemporary artistic forms, particularly in the field of performance. Do the exchanges with the choreographic practice bring a renewed look and knowledge for the museum and the art center on the exhibition and reception pathways ? Moreover, can we detect interferences between choreographic processes and some curatorial forms involving time, space and rules of the game of exhibition ?

Through a series of interviews with choreographers, actors of the art community and artists, Guénard will seek to determine what is happening in Quebec. Thus intending to create a corpus of documents which will constitute a new archive for the documentation center of LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE.
