Mandate

First artist-run centre in Quebec, established in 1978, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is dedicated to the experimentation of visual and digital arts, in particular practices exploring new technologies within an international network of exchanges and residencies. This laboratory  is built around research, creation, production, documentation training and broadcasting. 

Quebec’s artists-run centre, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE  has a mission to promote visual and digital arts. Gathering venue for the community interested in its mandate, it brings together artists, makers, hackers and anybody who wishes to get involve in community life as well as in the development of contemporary cultural challenges. 

Founded in 1978, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is devoted to experimental work in visual and digital arts and in particular the exploration of the new technologies as part of an international residency and exchange network. This “laboratory” is centred on research, creation, production, documentation, training and distribution.

A self-managed artists’ centre in Québec City, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE also promotes visual and digital arts. A meeting-place for the community interested in its mission, it brings together artists, makers, hackers and anybody interested in becoming involved in work in associations and developments in contemporary cultural issues.
