The Slaughterhouse Project : In Medias Res
Friday, February 25 at 8 pm
During his stay in the province of Quebec, Brad Buckley develops a new project that is part of a series of installations entitled The Slaughterhouse Project. He draws his inspiration from Tarrying with the Negative by Slovenian anticapitalist theorist Slavoj Zizek. This book is about confronting social models, reinvented cultures and the fascination for the “Other”. Buckley transforms the gallery into an architectural and social space allowing room for discussion, deconstruction and criticism. He divides it into three rooms in order to address history, politics, language, nationalism and the role culture plays in today’s society.
