It is with great enthusiasm that LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE hosts its first Quebec artist of the 2014 season. Emmanuel Lagrange Paquet a young Montreal artist with a brand new carrier will be spending his in situ residency at LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE. Emmanuel Lagrange Paquet works with many divers disciplines such as video, and numeric imagery. He uses printing and installation processes in other to create a form of entry way into an imaginary world that brings us to rethink our contemporary mythology; to somehow makes us want to project ourselves out of the screen in a wish to enhance our human condition. The artist questions the cinematographic mythologies and it’s narrative devices. His work appropriates signs of theses contemporary mythologies in order to blend them in divers decontextualization games. His project YOU NEVER KNOW springs for the same desire to enhance the narrative. Lagrange Paquet will conceive a using the Kinect with which he’ll capture parts of the bodies of the visitors. Each image will undergo transformations and will be turned into a constellation, a star. You are therefore invited to become a star on the opening night of March 27th at 5pm. Text: Claude Chevalot
