Sentier sonore (Sound pathway)
from January 18 to February 28, 2016 with Mois Multi Opening on February 4, 2016 at 5pm Performance on February 26 at 5pm
LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE IS HAPPY to welcome artist Sonia Paço-Rocchia for a residency. From January 18 to February 28 she will be working on her piece Sentier sonore (Sound pathway). She will be presenting a sample of this work in February in the Mois multi event. Sound is a predominant element of her work. She composes pieces for non-traditional music instruments. To name just a few, she produced CAM for seven metro cards players in 2001 and Pedalling Under London's Clouds, cycle and projection in 2008. The work she intends to do at LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE, is part of a diversified practice that goes from Web art, sound and interactive installations to improvisation. She considers ‘’sentier sonore’’ as a part of her work in progress rather than as a piece in itself. She intends to include Hélix, an ensemble of automated hélixophones, music instruments made from ‘’slinky’’ toys. Within her residency at LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE, she wants to create more sound automatons, based on other instrumental principles to eventually create a pool of automatons that she would be able to use to create some ‘’sound pathways ’’ in situ.
