Kiss and tell

Stephen Foster takes part in the series of Web residencies on the subject of censorship which also includes the presence, in fall 2009, of the artist Gabriela Golder. Censorship, like Foster says, "is one of the main instruments in the construction and editing of official history". Also, he says, "the monument creates and reinforces a perspective that is skewed and intentionally designed to erase alternative histories or even the presence of an indigenous past". Aiming to restore collective narratives, the project of the artist documents and deconstructs the myths propagated by official art in order to create a space for political and social dialogue.
