Rescate
Within the context of the series of Web residencies on the theme of censorship, the Argentina artist Gabriela Golder, with Rescate, will center her reflexion on the existing links between personal and universal matter. Here are a few words about her artist statement : « My practice is cyclical. My art is concerned with individual and collective memory. With traces of memory on bodies. With strategies of memory or with strategies of oblivion. With identity. With my identity and the one of others. With history marks. With the notion of disappearance, with disappearance. With the notion of time. With the notion of « floating nation ». With displacement. With resistance. With the possibility of resistance. The resistance of bodies. With the logic of survival, with the battle for survival. With action. With resistance, always. There is a breath, a need to breathe. To see inside. To see differently. To engage a reflexion in the acte of seeing. To think in the notion of time that passes, that flows. The necessity of time. The time of the look. It is always about an invitation to look. What we see, what we don’t see, what looks at us. I am hold by these questions, I am inside and part of it. I profit from the interstices that allows me to speak in a discursive framework dominated by another voice. The possibility to call / to name is mostly a tactic question. I suggest : what is personal is political ».
