Research Residency

enceinte de Berta K.
From April 6 to May 24, 2009, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is hosting for a research residency at its documentation center the writer and story-gatherer Katy Roy with her project "enceinte de Berta K.". The author, who has a Master degree in Litterature and Stage and Screen Arts from Laval University, is interested in the interaction potential between text and different types of arts. In the past, she created and produced a cinematographic adaptation of the anthology of poems Il n’y a plus de chemin by Jacques Brault. From the archives documents of LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE, she wishes to pursue her researches by questionning the role and place of text, oral or written, in visual artworks, more specifically regarding in situ and installation practices. With its research residency, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE wants to stimulate the interest for crtitic and reflexion towards current visual arts by offering to upcoming artists and authors the occasion to use its documentation center, which, since the foundation of the center, tends to become, in Quebec City, an important ressource center for conservating the memory in visual arts.
