Géographies Variables
Opening on Friday October 19th at 5pm, at Beenox Building, 305, boul Charest Est, 9th floor, Quebec (QC), G1K 3H3
In 2009, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE (Quebec) and Julie Morel from incident.net (France) joined forces in order to create the exchange programm Géographies Variables, organized as crossed French-Quebec residencies sessions that unfold in a period of two years. Keeping in mind the distinctive characteristics of all individual practices, but also the possible crossing points, the programm aims to bring together artists working in the fields of net art, web art or digital art. For each residencies session, a large partner network (art centres, galleries, research programms and labs) coordinate in order to welcome the participants from both countries and to offer them a creative environement.
LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is proud to present, from 19th October to 11th November 2012, a retrospective exhibition that gathers the majority of the artist of the 2010-2011 edition of Géographies Variables. Installed in the premices of the Beenox Building, this exhibition is a great opportunity to show the art pieces of eight Quebec artists and six French artists, whose work is imbued as much with their individual creative force, as with the experience of cultural crossing that they were able to live.
