Launch of Nataliya Petkova's Web publication

On October 2, 2014, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE will receive Nataliya Petkova for the launch of her Web publication. This project was supported by Quebec City’s program Première Ovation. The publication follows her installation work entitled : La Mariée mise à nu par les pixels même, which was presented at Laval University’s Galerie des arts visuels in the spring of 2013. This work was composed of performance, video, text and sound. Each element was the transdisciplinary translation of the previous; performance into video, video into text and text into sound. Thêkê follows in particular the video to text portion of that work and aims to complete the Web publication of all the pages. Petkova intends to add a certain number of pages each month for the next 50 years. For the occasion, Nataliya Petkova chose to invite five artists: Carol-Ann Belzil-Normand (Quebec), Janine Fortin (Quebec), Pierre-Luc Lapointe (Quebec), Yan St-Onge (Montreal) and Cyprien Parvex de Collombey (France). These artists received carte blanche for their creation, Thêkê being the main converging point. Art historian Patricia Aubé was also invited to write about the publication and the work of the guest artists.
