#ALPHALOOP

#ALPHALOOP is a project carried by the artist Adelin Schweitzer who approaches the theme of the sacred through the prism of the imagined practice of techno-shamanism. The project unfolds in several phases of research on the shamanic cultures destined to feed the dramaturgical writing of an ambulatory multimedia performance in space. The residence takes place from July 10 to September 24, 2018 and a presentation of the research will take place on September 20, 2018 at 5pm.

The first part of the residence took place at the Petit Théâtre du Vieux Noranda to collaborate on the MA NORANDA project from July 16 to August 17, 2018. This first part allowed Adelin Schweitzer to prepare his trip with Frédéric Sechet, author and performer on the project. The two artists left Rouyn-Noranda to go to île René-Levasseur. At the end of this trip, they will join LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE to present the elements collected during their tour.

Both artists propose a sensitive and non-anthropological approach. Based on this approach and on the potential of the virtual reality headset as an audiovisual interface, symbolic object and magic tool, the duo wishes to propose a field of experimentation allowing for the exchange and sharing of know-how with the encountered communities. This project received support from the Consulat général de France à Québec and benefits from a partnership with UQAT and its department in digital art.
