Virtual residency at Rad'Art (San Romano, Italy)

Colours of a Country residency project by the artist Michèle Lorrain takes place from September 15, 2020 to December 19, 2020 at Rad’Art and LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE. A presentation of the artist's residency work is scheduled on December 18, 2020 at 1 pm online and in the gallery.

Michèle Lorrain's project consists of taking colors from landscapes and memories by developing two types of color charts. Thus, Michèle Lorrain's residency will take place in two parts. For the Quebec part, Lorrain is developing a color chart made from her observations and her wanderings on the territory. Each color extracted from its environment will be accompanied by documents relating to its environment in the form of text, drawing, image or video. The first color chart will reveal a material landscape of the natural world and the matter that constitutes it.

For the second part, Michèle Lorrain will send her visual research to the Rad’Art center in Italy, asking for the participation of the inhabitants of the region of San Romano and Mercato Saraceno. Participants will be able to make a visual contribution that will be translated into color to form part of a second color chart that will complete the residency project. The second color chart will be linked to the sensible world, the emotions, the memories of the intangible territories that inhabit us.

At the end of this research, Michèle Lorrain wishes to share the colors, memories and sensations that unite the inhabitants of both Quebec and the Italian territory.
