LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE gladly welcomes Quebec artist Josiane Roberge. Josiane Roberge was the winner of the prix l@ch@mbrebl@nche 2012-2013. Her research and production work in situ went from October 7th to November 17th 2013. Resulting from this production residency, Josiane Roberge’s project LES TOURNEURS DE LANGAGES (THE LANGUAGE THROWERS) is embedded in a humanist an artistic approach seeking to create or reveal privileged experiences between individuals. Using notions of interpretation and translation, the artist works with texts from Quebec authors and then subjects them to a multitude of translations in order to reveal the many transformations born of the cultural subjectivity and the personal interpretation of the translator themselves. Will all of theses transformation give birth to new texts altogether? Via the LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE’s Website (www.chambreblanche.qc.ca), the public as well as the translators are invited to follow the evolution of the particular itineraries of each of the nine texts from author Charles Bolduc, Isabelle Forest, Jean Désy, Naomi Fontaine, Claire Varin, Madeleine Stratford, Anne-Marie Olivier et Mylène Bouchard. The artist thus inserts herself into the distinctiveness of the language, between the author and it’s language, into the constellation of signs and their significations in order to shine a light on the black holes and the metamorphosis.
